When Cey Sesiguzel, co-founder of the award-winning London-based video production company Two Fresh Productions, approached Social Advantage, he was embarking on his boldest project yet — the self-release of his first feature-length documentary, The Divided Island.
Cey wanted to elevate his profile as a leading documentary filmmaker, build meaningful thought leadership on LinkedIn, promote the film, drive ticket sales, and raise awareness about its important geopolitical themes. Our job was to deliver the strategy and execution to make sure the project had the digital footprint and attention it deserved.
“As a creative agency owner, producing content has never been the challenge, but staying organised with distribution and copy has always been a struggle, especially with the many demands on my time.” -Cey Sesiguzel
In short, Cey was too busy with the responsibilities of self-releasing an independent film nationwide to focus on his social media, though he realised its importance for the film's promotion.
That’s where we came in.
We focused on three key goals:
✅ Position Cey as a thought leader
We crafted a personal brand narrative for Cey, highlighting his journey as a self-made documentary filmmaker and agency co-founder, his creative process, and the challenges and lessons behind The Divided Island. This involved a mix of first-person posts, behind-the-scenes content, and expert commentary on the wider documentary film industry.
✅ Build sustained social engagement and visibility
Through full-service social media management, we rolled out a content calendar across LinkedIn and Instagram, covering trailers, exclusive stills, press highlights, and Q&A moments. We mixed long-form storytelling posts with sharp, visually-led content to capture attention and create shareability.
✅ Drive awareness and action
Our content strategy was designed to convert attention into action — pushing ticket sales, media mentions, and word-of-mouth referrals. We closely coordinated the rollout around screenings, interviews, podcast guest spots, and press opportunities to maximise reach and momentum.
Having Social Advantage take the reigns has been a game-changer. Their support in marketing my feature film The Divided Island led to remarkable engagement and, more importantly, ticket sales. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Social Advantage to anyone looking for a top-tier social media agency.
